Licenses and Registrations – General Information

The State of Texas now requires various licenses and registrations for almost all services offered by STC. If you are looking for a consultant to help you, make sure they have all the appropriate licenses. Otherwise, you may find the consultant is simply subcontracting the work to other firms that have the appropriate credentials.

If you peruse the license dates, you will see that most of licenses held by STC date to the inception of the programs in the State of Texas. This often means the staff at STC has been doing the work for more than a decade and before the licensing programs evolved. This section provides a brief description of licenses held by the firm and various personnel.

Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists

STC has always employed two or more Professional Geoscientists (P.G’s) and one of the founders of the firm (Mr. Tribley) has been a practicing P.G. since inception of the program in Texas.

Like Engineers, the seal of a P.G. is now mandatory for certain reports submitted to the TCEQ under the TRRP rules. Since STC is also a registered engineering firm, no formal registration of the firm is required by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists. Texas Board of Professional Engineers

STC has always employed one or more Professional Engineers (P.E’s) and one of the founders of the firm (Mr. Scheiding) has been a practicing P.E. for decades.

The seal of a PE or similar qualified professional is required for certain reports that are submitted to the TCEQ under the TRRP rules as well as certain other projects such as SPCC plans.

As required by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, STC is a registered to perform engineering services in the State of Texas. The Firm Registration Number is F-180. More information about engineering registration can be found at http://www.tbpe.state.tx.us/ .

Petroleum Storage Tanks (PST)

STC maintains several licenses offered by the State of Texas for the management of underground storage tanks in Texas. These licenses/registrations include:

• LPST Corrective Action Specialist – (Firm) – RCAS # 00010 – Initially issued at program inception September 30, 1994

• UST Contractor – (Firm) – CRP # 001230 - Initially issued at program inception January 16, 1996

• LPST Corrective Action Project Manager (Personnel Specific – multiple licenses) - License issued for Mr. Tribley at the inception of the program in 1994

Asbestos

STC hold numerous licensees for the firm and personnel engaged in asbestos inspection and consulting activities. For years, the firm has had at least at least six personnel holding various licenses offered by the Texas Department of State Health Services. A list of both company and personnel licenses is listed below.

• Asbestos Consultant Agency - (Firm) – License No. 100072 – initial license issued at inception of program

• Asbestos Laboratory PCM – (Firm) -License No 31132 – initial license issued at inception of program

• Asbestos Consultant (Personnel Specific – multiple licenses)

• Asbestos Air Monitoring Technicians - (Personnel Specific – multiple licenses)

• Asbestos Inspectors - (Personnel Specific – multiple licenses)

Mold

• Mold Assessment Company - (Firm) – License No. ACO 0160 – initial license issued at inception of program.

• Mold Assessment Consultant - (Personnel Specific – multiple licenses) initial license for Mr. Scheiding issued at inception of program.
